The Hire Method LLC Hiring for EHS Engineer at Stafford, CT Full Time

Work week: Monday through Friday

Job location: 4 Old Munson Rd, Stafford Springs, CT 06076

Compensation:

• $70,000 to $75,000 + annual bonus (5-7%)
• Benefits start on the 1st of the month after they are employed (i.e., hired on July 15th, their benefits start August 1st. (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Tuition Reimbursement; PTO) Sign On – potential but don’t lead with this.

Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s required.

Experience:

• 1 or more years of experience in an environmental, health/safety, or engineering role.

Preferred Experience:

• Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science degree.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate projects including new start-up, upgrading existing processes and looking for more cost effective and efficient ways to run all water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Design and oversee construction of all EHS improvement projects throughout the business unit including overseeing contractors that are on site for environmental purposes.
• Develop and analyze data to create predictive models for use in waste treatment & industrial hygiene processes.
• Work with production to be proactive with any design/process changes that will have an environmental or employee health impact.
• Assist in conducting Industrial Hygiene monitoring and data analysis.
• Assist in conducting environmental and safety site evaluations in conjunction with the EHS department and 3rd party environmental consultants to develop efficient site compliance strategies.
• Manage compliance data, ing and permit application processes.
• Maintain knowledge of current and prospective compliance regulations and changes
• Interface with State & Local authorities to assure compliance applications and documents meet expectations.
• Responsibilities include the ing of all accidents, near misses and safety concerns. Perform job duties utilizing the required and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Full participation in safety training and the ability to understand and follow the directions identified in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), PPE Assessments, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and all Safety Procedures and alerts.
• Facilitates and attends meetings, communicates regularly with managers and supervisors, suggests, and composes procedural changes, attends special training, maintains a clean, safe work environment, and communicates to supervisors’ safety hazards and issues.
• Seek, plan, schedule and complete improvement and cost savings projects.
• Assist in daily operations during times of emergency, special circumstances and/or short staff periods.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Must possess good interpersonal, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be able to multitask and lead by example.
• Good mathematical skills, good computer skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook
• Must be reliable and dependable. Must also be a fast learner.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications and procedures
• Has good reading vision and is able to sit for up to 10 hours per day.
• Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
• Regular attendance is an essential job function of this position.
