Summary

The Threader Operator is responsible for ensuring that threading machines are properly set up in order to ensure smooth production runs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares threading machines for operation, cleaning the machine and loading and unloading hoppers.
• Changes dies and sets die pressure.
• Tests the machine operation during set up.
• Greases machines and fills them with oil and coolant.
• Trouble shoots problems during runs.
• Inspects product to complete quality checks on parts, measuring and recording dimensions.
• Completes inspection reports.
• Empties pans of parts to bins manually or replaces bins on conveyor machines.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Support and follow internal health and safety programs and protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma or higher.
• 2-5 years’ experience working in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Certified forklift license required.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must have good math skills and an eye for detail.
• Familiarity with tool & die making, cold-heading process, etc.
• Ability to read blueprints is considered an asset
• Knowledge of SPC and ISO 9000 standards is an asset
• Working knowledge of machine tools ie. Drill Press, Milling Machine etc.
