Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for performing in-bound inspection, customer returns and in-process inspection and should be familiar with using instruments such as Radio Frequency (RF) Gun or Scanner, Cubiscan Dimensioning & Weighing System, Calipers, Plug Gages, Ring Gages, Must have good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite. The Quality Assurance Technician works directly with the Quality Assurance Supervisor in order to ensure all quality and company requirements are followed.

Essential Functions

• Perform in-bound, including returns and in-process inspection as assign.
• Collect samples and record data to support quality assurance.
• Perform Cubiscan verification & correction.
• Assist with Advance Shipping Notification (ASN).
• Prepare and issue Non-Conforming Report (NCR) and Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) when non-conforming items or damaged items are discovered.
• Prepare and issue Quality Alerts.
• Measure products using Calipers and Micrometers,
• Complete Inspection Report.
• Assist with ensuring calibration of all gages and equipment.
• Organize and maintain record keeping, electronically and hardcopy as required.
• Assist in investigating quality issues to determine root cause.
• Cross train in the event of an absent QA Staff.
• Assist in developing procedures to maintain ISO Quality System.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
• Complies with Hillman Canada policies, procedures and safety rules.
• Support and follow the health and safety program.

Education

• College Diploma or higher.
• Engineering certification would be an asset.

Qualifications

• Good communication written and spoken.
• Must be able to read drawings and Artwork.
• Computer skills need to be exceptional specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
• Warehouse Management System (WMS) and JD Edwards Enterprise One (E1) would be an asset.
• 3-5 Years in a QA Technician role in a Distribution, Manufacturing or Testing Environment.
• Highly motivated individual with a desire to advance in their role.
• Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
