The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch is an upscale riding, horsemanship and working cattle ranch located in Shell, Wyoming nestled in the foot of the Bighorn Mountains.

Along with living on a spectacular riding, working cattle and adventure ranch with access to approximately 650,000 acres for recreational use, your duties will be both challenging and rewarding.

The Hideout is looking for a well-qualified Administrative Assistant who is outgoing, friendly and has great people skills to work in a high-end hospitality setting. This staff member has continuous contact with guests/staff and always puts the guests’ needs first. Outstanding computer skills are required for this position, including strong familiarity with MS Office products – Excel, Word, Access, etc.

This is a seasonal position through the beginning of November with the potential to be a multi-year, year-round, full-time position for the right applicant.

This position includes but is not limited to: booking reservations, calculating rates, greeting and serving guests, answering phones, helping guests in our western shop, responding to emails, managing projects, check-in/check-out guests, managing cross-department communications and reports, organizing guests/staff/events and communicating with all departments to help provide a superior guest experience.

Assisting with work in other departments during slow periods or on an as-needed basis may be required. The Office Assistant needs to work in a team environment, be able to think for themselves and handle emergency situations.

Position Requirements:

• Previous administrative experience is required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent computer skills (experience in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required. Will provide training on reservation and Point of Sale software)
• Office Staff must be well groomed and wear appropriate attire (business casual or Western)
• Additional language skills, accounting, sales, computer or advertising background or musical talent are welcome.

Applicants should be at least 21 years of age and willing to live on the ranch. Housing is provided as part of our seasonal employment package. We will try to provide each staff member with their own bedroom, but it may be necessary to share with a same-sex staff member and also to share a house with mixed roommates. No pets are allowed. Because of our remote location, Hideout employees are required to have their own vehicle.

Employment Dates:

From now until the end of our guest season early in November. Please do not apply for this position unless you can work the entire season.

The Hideout is in the guest business and the entire purpose of our job is to make sure our guests have a fantastic time with positive lasting memories. Hours and Payment:

Employees receive a monthly paycheck with the rate being established when a job offer is made based on your experience and background. Everyone works at least 6 days a week and all positions are over 40 hours per week. A generous end-of-season bonus is offered based on satisfactory completion of the term of employment.
