Hershey is looking for a Financial Analyst – AP with a depth of accounts payable experience that is looking to grow their career in the finance organization to join us in the accounting department.

Financial Analyst – AP role will mainly support owned retail B&M stores, including Hershey, PA, NYC, and company stores. With minimal supervision, this position will primarily focus on efficient and accurate oversight of accounts payable transactions through receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling retail chocolate and merchandise invoices. This position will collaborate across multiple functions including Warehousing, Supply Chain, Operations, US eCommerce and Vendors to ensure appropriate month end reporting and processing

Role Responsibilities:

AP Processing

• Reconcile vendor invoices against subsidiary ledger (MS Dynamics) purchase orders
• Investigate, research, and resolve all discrepancies by working with internal and external business partners
• Perform all accounting, coding, reporting, and analysis to ensure vendor payments are processed accurately and timely in accordance with company policies
• Perform and analyze monthly reconciliations and KPIs
• Prepare and analyze journal entries for month end closing
• Analyze processes, recommend improvements and manage all internal controls

Special Projects/ Other Accountabilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of new business models from a finance and operations perspective. This will require understanding various systems and processes to build efficient and automated financial ecosystems.
• Collaborate with internal functional staff to understand functionality, integrations, or enhancements to existing financial systems to support overall objects and growth strategies
• Create and maintain financial business documentation as it relates to functionality, integrations, or enhancements to existing financial systems
• Support the accounting team by being back up to some closing accounting activities.
• Act as finance liaison for THX invoicing
• Act as finance liaison for ticketing system enhancement testing

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications:

• BA/BS in Finance or Accounting, or Business Admin

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial field.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP preferred
• Experience managing AP processes and month end responsibilities

Skills / Knowledge:

• Works under minimal supervision
• Knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes preferred
• Ability to identify, research, and resolve basic and complex issues and make recommendations to improve processes.
• Strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint), with proven ability to synthesize multiple data sources to develop insights
• Works under minimal supervision and serves as business advisor
• Ability to analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and execute process improvement recommendations
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/areas of responsibilities simultaneously
• Ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships and influence across the organization
• Ability to produce accurate results in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
• Strong Communication and soft skills
• Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks with high priorities, project management, detail and process-oriented skills under time constraints and deadlines.
• Strong drive for results to deliver against goals
