Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end hardware development process, from conceptualization to production, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
• Design, simulate, and analyze electrical circuits and systems, considering factors such as power consumption, thermal management, signal integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility.
• Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and associated documentation, leveraging industry best practices and design standards.
• Oversee and participate in the hardware prototyping and validation activities, including board bring-up, functional testing, and performance characterization.
• Collaborate closely with firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software components.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of bio-tech hardware designs to identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions, employing appropriate tools and techniques.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, in both medical and non-medical fields, industry trends, and best practices in hardware development and testing, and apply this knowledge to enhance product performance and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing partners, to drive the successful integration of hardware components into the overall product design.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the hardware development process, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency, reliability, and quality
• Make hardware modifications to existing vendor and developing hardware

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lead, learn, and work in a fast pace environment under limited supervision.
• Capable working as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient Computer and Software Skills. Knowledge of Windows, MS Office Suite,).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changes and willingness to be flexible.Expertise in analog and digital circuit design, including microcontrollers, power electronics, signal processing, and communication interfaces.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, such as EMC/EMI compliance, safety regulations, and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Proficiency in using lab equipment for hardware testing and debugging (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
• Healthcare information technology background is a plus.
• Solid understanding of embedded systems and firmware development processes.
• Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools for electrical circuit design and analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and a track record of successfully leading hardware development projects.

Physical Capabilities

• Lifting: Requires lifting materials over 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
• Operating machinery, and/or power tools.

Qualifications:

• This position will take place primarily in a office setting.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 9-10 years experience required.
