Summary: The Guild for Human Services is seeking a cohort Education Manager. This person is responsible for the ongoing supervision of approximately four to five special educators as well as teaching assistants/instructional aides. The Education Manager provides administrative and program oversight to ensure the attainment of individual goals/objectives as identified in IEPs for assigned students.

Primary Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the Chief Education Officer, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and other Guild staff, provide orientation, training, modeling, and resources to teaching staff and teacher assistants
• Supervise, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback to department staff for organization-wide developmental needs to drive professional development
• Manage staff scheduling, assignments, attendance, and performance of direct care classroom assistants and teachers (e.g., breaks, transitions, coverage, community experiences, etc.).
• Review, interview, and recommend the hiring of subordinate positions in the department
• Conduct IEP meetings and participate in other internal and external meetings as required to ensure that effective student programs are developed, implemented, and evaluated including the dissemination of information necessary for effective coordination of student programs
• Prepare internal and external written and verbal reports as necessary.
• Consult with Guild School staff specialists and other program consultants and incorporate their recommendations/suggestions as to appropriate educational materials
• Interact effectively with other people concerned with student placement/progress, such as referring agencies, parents, guardians, advocates, and current and potential providers of continuing or supplementary/ancillary services
• Assist in monitoring student workflow and work quality to ensure that agreed quantity, quality, and delivery timelines are maintained
• Assist in securing, developing, or adapting necessary educational, vocational, and related materials

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in special education or equivalent degree
• Five (5) years of experience teaching children/adolescents who have mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities
• Must be Massachusetts State certified grades 5-12 in Mild/Moderate or Severe Special Needs
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge of and experience with special education law and processes
• Excellent organization and time management skills

Pay: $79,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
