Full Job Description

Our very busy OB/GYN practice needs an experienced Medical Receptionist who can manage the administrative duties involved with coordinating patient and physician schedules as well as provide outstanding customer service. We’re looking for a professional who believes that patients should be treated as individuals rather than numbers and who understands the value of compassionate service.

The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking along with the following responsibilities:

  • Answer multi-line phones.
  • Greet patients upon arrival, check them in and obtain insurance and demographic information.
  • Provide patients with forms and scan documents into our electronic medical records, Athena.
  • Process payments from patients for their co-pays, deductibles and balances.
  • Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on physician/provider availability.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Provide excellent communication.

Requirements: 1+ years’ medical office experience required.

About The Group for Women:

Busy OB/GYN practice with 3 locations in the Norfolk, Downtown Norfolk and Chesapeake area. We have 10 physicians, 2 Physician Assistants and 2 Certified Nurse Midwives.
