Job Title: Coding/software developer

Salary: £30k+ depending on skills and experience

Location: Brighton (some time may be possible to work remotely, but ease of travel to Brighton is very important)

Duration: Full time perm role

Hours: office hours with flexibility when needed

The Business:

As one of the fastest-growing brands in the premium nail beauty industry, our industry leading products have been seen on the world’s most influential celebrities from the Kardashian sisters to Katy Perry and J-Lo. After substantial growth over the last year, we are now expanding our back office teams to support the wider business on the exciting projects ahead.

The Role:

The role is critical to us in building the IT infrastructure necessary to support our very fast changing and growing business. We build many of our systems in house and are currently working on for example a major warehouse stock system, and in-house appointment booking system.

Behind our Ecommerce web site is a Prestashop ‘back office’ (we may be moving to Shopify but always have development plans for Prestahop on-going) and we manage and develop not only our own 3 web sites but 20 or 30 others that are operated by our international Distributors. There is always lots of development work needed to be done in a short time, and this will suit confident coders, able to take a brief and deliver on it, without needing much coaching or support.

Within our Prestashop environment this role will provide the business with the go-to resource to identify issues and bugs, someone able to apply fixes, or write new non-complex functions, build integrations using plugins or API, and generally resolve user issues.

Good experience in developing systems based on Laravel is a pre-requisite.

We imagine recruiting a full time permanent staff member – but would consider hiring on a contract basis if appropriate.

The Candidate:

4 or 5 years general coding experience, post university, is probably the minimum here.

A high degree of competence and confidence in coding is required, able to deliver the finished product in full tested, and final order, on time and to specification. Specific skills and experience we need are:

Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills in: – Laravel (min 2 years experience)- Laravel Livewire- PHP (OOP) (min 4 years experience)- MySQL databases- Git- HTML/CSS/Bootstrap- Experience with Rest APIs

– Experience with Prestashop Portfolio on GitHub (or similar service) would be amazing

Beyond the specific skills experience, we are looking for flexibility and hard work for sure, but just as important is someone with the character who will fit in well with our dynamic colourful and fashion focused business. Someone fun, approachable and an energiser to the teams, whilst being technically first class is the key.
