The Organization

The Forest Foundation (TFF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of educators, landowners, business professionals. Since 1994, the foundation’s goal is to provide Californians with the most credible source of information regarding the benefits of sustainable forest management. With great success, it has expanded its efforts to foster its premier educational opportunities for decision makers, universities and educating youth in the classroom.

The Position

Under the direction of the Foundation Chair, the Executive Education Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Foundation’s spokesperson and communicator promoting its goals and programs including public relations strategies, communication and marketing plans, news and media relations, information and presentations for various organizations, clubs and schools, etc.

• Carries out the policies and directives of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
• Manages the paid staff and contractors of the Foundation in support of educational programs.
• o Manage contract relationships to ensure exceptional performance
• o Implement and oversee quality of deliverables as it relates to the current TFF needs utilizing the strategic and marketing plans.
• Provides leadership, direction and administration of all aspects of the Foundation’s activities including fundraising and grant writing to ensure compliance with established objectives.
• Provides overall administration, management, coordination, integration, and ongoing development of the Foundation office.
• Plans small and large events for the public, teachers and students; legislators, and donors.

Qualities and Qualifications

The Executive Education Director is an individual who can professionally represent the Foundation and provide leadership in promoting the Foundation’s Mission and Goals. The successful candidate must have:

• The potential to rapidly attain knowledge of the sustainable management and conservation of California’s forests, ownerships, and policies.
• The ability to think strategically while executing the tactical milestones needed to enable the long term goals and strategies of TFF.
• Experience and background in education preferred.
• Strong project management stills to successfully oversee personnel, contractors and multiple projects.
• The potential to be a credible spokesperson and communicator promoting the Foundation’s goals and programs.
• Understanding of marketing and social media strategies for building conversation and relationships with an audience that propel brand awareness and increase member and donor engagement.
• Ability to create program budgets, financials and analysis.
• Understanding of donation program strategies and instruments associated with planned giving, cause marketing, corporate matching gifts and grants.
• The ability to organize and effectively run the Foundation’s internal office processes, procedures, staff and contractors.
• The ability to think outside the box, multi-task and work well under pressure.
• Possess strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to plan, manage and execute large events.
• The ideal candidate is a flexible, adaptive individual who is a self-starter and can work effectively independently, but under the direction of a volunteer board of directors.
• Exceptional organizational skills, hands-on abilities.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
