The Farm Project Hiring for Temporary Farm Education Officer Job at Cirencester, England Full Time

The Farm Project based at Abbey Home Farm near Cirencester is looking for a TEMPORARY MATERNITY COVER assistant education officer to join its small friendly team. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the natural world, and be enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing and passionate about young people and the countryside. They will also have experience of delivering education and working with children and young people from a diverse range of backgrounds. The candidate will genuinely enjoy the company of children and young people (all day long!), be happy out in the woods whatever the weather and have a high mud tolerance.

The Farm Project CIC (Community Interest Company) offers an unusual experience for children and young people through a short-stay residential on a working organic farm. Whilst here children and young people gain a deep understanding of where food comes from through hands-on growing, harvesting and cooking. They work with livestock and spend time in the woods building an awareness and appreciation for the natural world. Learning outside the classroom offers invaluable opportunities for personal development, building confidence and self-esteem. The nurturing environment (only maximum 10 participants) encourages positive relationships to be built between individuals and gives a general sense of wellbeing.
