The Eye Care Group Hiring for General Ledger Accountant Job at Waterbury, CT Full Time

The Accountant will participation in all activities related to full-cycle accounting. A team player is a must. The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciling and maintaining multiple general ledger accounts, demonstrating an ability to identify and resolve discrepancies between supporting documents and system balances.

Our accountant must have strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), is detail oriented, and enjoy hands-on identification and implementation of process changes. This role will report directly to the Comptroller and play an instrumental role in our organization’s future, and is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for month-end close
• Works with Billing Administrator on third party issues and monthly reporting.
• Prepare standard and specialized reports
• Prepare detailed analytics with variance analysis
• Prepare schedules and support for audit requests
• Prepares monthly journal entries, general ledger, and bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules for the following categories:
• Various accrued expense schedules
• Intercompany transactions
• Prepaid expenses
• Patient Refunds with Billing Administration
• Other schedules as required
• Investigates and resolves account discrepancies
• Interact with various department personnel to achieve desired goals
