The Business

The Eco Roof & Wall Company is a rapidly growing insulation and renewables business based at Bilborough, Nottingham specialising in insulation and renewables and providing energy saving solutions to houses in Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas. The business has been established for over 9 years. The recent announcement of the governments Eco4 scheme and others for the future aimed at providing householders with grant funding to undertake energy saving measures to their homes has enabled the company to plan a rapid period of growth that will be requiring dedicated office staff to support an increasing installations and sales workforce, one of these roles is that of a Finance Manager

The role

– Responsibility for all finance functions within the business- basic to high level

– Initially this will also day to day finance administration ( this isn’t input as we use Hubdoc to scan and load all invoices etc onto the current accounts software XERO), however it is envisaged that as the business grows there will be additional admin roles that will likely be carrying this aspect out.

– Previous experience of using Xero would be advantageous although not essential- it is more important to have “knowledge of accounting”.

– VAT- processing of all VAT returns.

– Bank reconciliations and responsibility of the bank account with payments due and scheduled. Online banks log on.

– Sales invoicing to clients at set points within the contract and ensuring payment is received in a timely fashion, which can also include taking card payments over the phone with the online system.

– Supplier records and accounts, including some raising of PO’s and possibly checking these against invoices when they arrive.

– Aged reports and building of relationships with suppliers.

– Running of reports including full month end reporting.

– Month end journal adjustments as necessary.

– CIS (Payroll and CIS is currently administered through the accountant although it would be helpful to have CIS back in house as the use of subcontractors for installations increases. Payroll will remain with the accountant).

– Accurate production of monthly management accounts that can be discussed with management.

– Input at management meetings as necessary to aid the ongoing development of the business.

– Production of cashflows, projections, budgets and monitoring performance against these.

– Financial reporting for the bank, investors and other outside bodes as required.

– Able to produce accounts to TB which will then be passed to the accountant for finalisation.

– Project costings (this is currently done via an excel template with formulae at pre and post project levels and the use of the function within Xero to ensure actual profit at the desired level on each job undertaken). Pre costings are currently done at an earlier stage so the likelihood is that this will be more post costings work.

– To assist the director and other senior management with other adhoc duties as deemed necessary.

– Full time employed role 9am-5pm

Salary: £35,000.00 per year
