CRU has a great opportunity for a suitably qualified Vocational Education and Training (VET) Coordinator to join the CRU Training division.

CRU is a Bible-based, interdenominational Christian youth organisation whose vision is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the students of the independent schools of Australia, to nurture Christians, encourage church membership and train young Christians for a life of servant leadership.

CRU Training, the internal institution within CRU is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). We provide nationally recognised qualifications in the fields of Outdoor Leadership, Christian Ministry and First Aid. Not only that, our RTO staff are all involved in the design and delivery of other in-house training modules such as the Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion Course and outdoor activity training.

Based at CRU’s campsite at Galston and working closely with other team members of the CRU Training division, this role will see you actively planning and delivering competency-based training courses and assessments to staff & trainees, volunteers and registered clients. Your experience in writing, reviewing and revising training plans in accordance with VET guidelines and CRU’s operational standards will be highly valued, and will help equip our teams with the skills to enable them to carry out their various roles with competence and professionalism.

The Vocational Education and Training (VET) Coordinator will also assist with the governance, administration and record keeping of the RTO as required.

We are keen to consider applications with:

• Outstanding Christian character with a mature faith and a passion for sharing the gospel with children. An active involvement with a local church would usually be demonstrated;
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience in a related field such as; Education, Training and Assessment, Outdoor Recreation and/or Theology;
• Competency and/or experience in outdoor activities. This may include abseiling, canoeing, rock climbing, sailing, challenge ropes courses, bushwalking, archery, and others;
• A desire to work closely with RTO staff in developing and implementing training programs;
• Excellent communication and management skills, including the ability to work with and teach both adults and children; &
• Exceptional organisational skills and office efficiency, and the ability to prioritise tasks.
