Director of Finance and Administration

We have been engaged to conduct an executive search for a Director of Finance and Administration for our client, a community-based outpatient health care and multi-service center (Health Center) with offices in Dorchester, MA. The Health Center has about $50m in annual net revenue and is affiliated with a major Boston Teaching Hospital. The Director of Revenue Integrity will work at the Dorchester location.

The starting salary is up to $130k, depending on background and experience. Potential upward mobility for strong candidate with growth potential.

The Director of Finance and Administration will be a strategic partner and report to the Chief Financial Officer. The Director of Finance and Administration will partner with the senior finance and operation leadership team in strategic decision making and operations, as the Health Center continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on participative manager and will lead and develop an internal team to support grants management, building services, facilities planning, payroll cycle and purchasing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Controller and Director of Revenue with the CFO in budgeting and financial planning.
• Manage grant cycle including review grant budget and ensure compliance in grant revenue recognition.
• Review UDS and all the necessary governmental reporting requirements.
• Work collaboratively with Human resources to ensure the newly converted payroll system is functioning in accordance with the company payroll policy and procedures including regulatory compliance and internal control rules and procedures.
• Fulfill payroll requisition, processing and ensure time allocation based on grant and contract management.
• Support the operating departments and perform financial feasibility to ensure all of the operation changes or proposals meet the return-on-investment goals.
• Perform financial feasibility in future service expansion and manager Eye Care ETC, LLC, a subsidiary of the Health Center, financial affairs.
• Manage the purchasing cycle and ensure compliance with Federal purchasing rules and requirements.
• Update and implement all necessary business policies and procedures in the responsible areas.
• Participate in Compliance effort to ensure internal control.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• At least 10 years of broad financial and operations management experience
• Minimum of 3 years of grant management experience
• 5 years of financial experience in a medium to large complex healthcare company strongly preferred
• Excellent analytical ability with expertise with Excel and Word
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and easily adapt to a flexible work environment
• Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; proficient with Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon) accounting software
• Ability to complete analytical and audit level review of data in Excel worksheets
• Proficient with Microsoft Office with intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
• A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
