Job Summary:

The Graphic Art Director will be responsible for directing the creation of graphics apparel for multiple channels. This position will partner cross-functionally in order to stay in-line with business needs and current retail market trends.

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

• Direct the creation of graphics for apparel within specific timelines for the preparation and release into the market
• Implement graphic design concepts consistent with brand strategies
• Direct retail market trends research and translate into graphics
• Implement new graphics techniques
• Ensure that the product is consistent with market trends while maintaining brand identity
• Serve as an expert for product design and aesthetics to support Merchandising and Production in costing decisions
• Lead brainstorming sessions for new concepts for upcoming season’s graphics
• Develop inspiration boards and direct the translation of concepts and boards into key items
• Partner with Design to complete concepts and pitch sheets
• Partner with Production to finalize scaling, placement, and quality of graphics
• Ensure colors of graphics match the vision for the current apparel and accessories

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in design or related field 
• 7+ years of experience in fashion graphics
• Experience with textile and print design repeats, colorways
• Experience with embellishments and screen printing techniques
• Experience with managing in-house Design team as well as freelance artists
• Experience with InDesign

Skills and Behaviors:

• Advanced proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
• Great eye and hand for textile graphics
• Ability to design around concepts
• Ability to work independently under general direction
• Strong leadership skills  
• Must be able to work within specific timelines and towards multiple deadlines
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on collaboration
