 The Business Process Analyst will own and support key foundational excel tools/reports and systems that serve as core pieces of the company’s merchandising and planning capabilities. He/She must have retail knowledge and experience to understand business needs; the technical skillset to support merchandising/planning systems (JDA MFP/APT); advanced Excel and VBA skills to transform data and automate reports and tools. He/She will also need project management and collaboration skills to drive execution in a fast-paced environment of changing and often competing priorities. This position will report to the Manager of Business Process.

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

• Excel Tools/Reports
  • Owns several Excel-based tools and processes, with responsibilities including break-fixes, enhancements, documentation of processes and tool definitions and communications with users.
  • Automates and validates reports and tools using advanced Excel/VBA. Executes data transformation, consolidation, and refresh in an automated fashion.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners to translate end-user requests to technical requirements.  Designs, tests, documents and implements requests.
  • Supports Power BI reporting and manages/creates BI queries in Cognos.

• Systems
  • Serves as an admin functional role for planning systems (JDA MFP)
  • Troubleshoots merchandising (APT) and planning (JDA MFP) systems user support questions
  • Assists with system upgrades including collaborating with IT, merchandising, planning, allocation and other partner functions across multiple levels to understand processes and JDA MFP/APT tool improvement opportunities
  • Assist in system enhancement project implementation including design, build, testing, training/go-live and hypercare support
  • Understands cross functional business processes and milestones related to the department’s deliverables to ensure on-time delivery

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business area
• 2+ years of experience in retail, particularly working with Merchandising and/or Planning
• 1+ years of experience in using or supporting merchandising and planning systems preferred
• 2+ years of experience working in/with Informational Technology preferred
• 2+ years of experience in an analytical or reporting role preferred

Skills and Behaviors

• Expert Excel skills including pivot tables, complex formulas, advanced queries, etc is a must
• Experience with Visual Basic (VBA) including code writing and debugging is a must
• SQL, PowerBI, Cognos is a plus
• Access DB knowledge and experience is a plus
• Report automation/scheduling (e.g. via Outlook task scheduler) experience is a plus
• Excellent analytical and math skills
• Detail oriented, accurate execution of processes
• Highly proficient in retail math
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Must be agile, able to prioritize, and able to manage multiple demands and stay calm under pressure
