• Community Support Worker
• Full time/Part time
• £18,373 per annum (pro rata)
• Applicants must hold a full valid driving license and have access to their own vehicle for business use
• The role is shift work and can include days, weekends & bank holidays however shifts are on a Rota basis so you will know in advance to plan your time accordingly.

We’re looking for Community Support Workers to work with us in Suffolk covering Felixstowe, Ipswich and Stowmarket, supporting children, young people and adults who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex needs.

Our support includes:

• Outreach Support
• Daytime Activity Groups
• Social Groups
• Short Breaks & Events

As a Support Worker you will;

• Ensure the people we support are encouraged to reach their full potential
• Accompany the people we support to activities, appointments, education etc.
• Assisting with day to day living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping etc.
• Help with personal care such as supporting with showering, toileting and dressing.

As this role requires providing personal care it will usually be necessary for applicants to have had or agree to have the Covid-19 vaccine.

On successful completion of your probationary period, you will be considered to undertake a Health and Social Care Level 3 Diploma, at no cost to yourself. This will assist you in career progression within Avenues.

Do you need experience?

• No experience needed but it would be beneficial!
• You need to have an understanding of empathy for the people you are supporting, showing commitment to personal and professional development.
• You would also be proactive and have the drive to identify and overcome obstacles.
• Every service is unique to us, however we require you to be flexible and cover different working hours across 7 days a week including weekends & Bank Holidays.
