The Archdiocese of Baltimore Hiring for Teacher, ELA – ‘- at Baltimore, MD Full Time

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is seeking qualified candidates for anticipated English Language Arts teaching positions for the 2023-2024 school year. The teacher’s instructional responsibilities will be in the 6th-12th grade range. The teacher would need to be comfortable with technology integration utilizing chromebooks and G-Suite applications.

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Implement lesson plans that adhere to the Archdiocesan curriculum and Maryland course of study utilizing a variety of techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students
• Create a positive instructional environment conducive to learning (PBIS)
• Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic and timely manner
• Communicate standards, achievements, and deficiencies through email, phone calls, conferences, and an electronic grade book on a weekly basis
• Safely and actively supervise students both inside and outside of the classroom
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
• Experience with integration of technology is preferred
• Attend school events including, but not limited to open house, festivals, concerts, etc.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Education
• Must be an active practicing Roman catholic (preferred)
• Current MSDE certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of principles and practices of pedagogy
• Knowledge of curriculum
• Knowledge of instructional materials and equipment
• Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork.
