St. John the Evangelist Catholic School located in Severna Park, Maryland is seeking a faith-filled and dynamic assistant principal to join the leadership team. This position is available now, however the start date is flexible up to July 1, 2022.
This Assistant Principal must be fully dedicated to catholic education, maintain high expectations for students and teachers, be a team player, have excellent attention to detail, and be able to work with a diverse demographic. This person must also be open to implementing and supporting non-traditional discipline practices, such as PBIS and Restorative Practices. This position reports directly to the principal. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and is at heart a teacher and motivator.
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Assists the Principal in defining the school’s mission and communicating goals and expectations of the school program.
Provides instructional leadership, in concert with the Principal, for the implementation of the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Assists in coordinating and supervising the instructional program of the school in conjunction with the appropriate school and Archdiocese staff.
Provides for changes in daily schedules and programs to meet the needs of individual students.
Communicates effectively with students, staff, administrative and supervisory personnel, parents, and community.

Qualifications:
A Catholic in good standing, fully able to model Christian values, adhering to the teachings of the church; to participate in the sacramental life of the Church; and to inspire a shared vision of the value of Catholic education across all constituencies and stakeholders
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in educational administration, supervision, curriculum development, or education. Possession of/or eligible for Maryland Administrator I Certificate Endorsement.
A minimum of 3 years of outstanding teaching and administrative experience at the elementary level. Prior Catholic school experience is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership experience at the school and/or school system level.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of pedagogy.
