ABOUT THE ROLE
Along with other Accounts Payable team members this role is responsible for all outgoing payments and other accounts payable related tasks for the AFL Group. The role will be required to maintain a strong working relationship with all members of the Finance Department and Accounts Payable team, together with all other AFL and State employees and their suppliers.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
Key Accountabilities:

• Receives and collates incoming invoices and payment requests from creditors and internal departments
• Checks and validates invoices for relevant purchase orders and assists with employees with the PR and PO process
• Enters and processes payment data into AFL financial systems
• Generates EFT, BPAY and payment files
• Ensures all creditors have completed valid internal checks to be onboarded as vendors, and are reviewed/ maintained on a regular basis
• Reconcile creditors statements
• Addresses creditor and staff queries on creditor payments and invoices in a timely manner
• Assist with management of company credit cards
• Assist with payments of AFL Club funding
• Assist with other financial team member tasks including bank reconciliations

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER
Core Competencies:

• Prior experience in a financial administrative role
• Year 12 or equivalent
• Studying towards an accounting/ finance degree or similar
• Excellent communicator and ability maintain strong stakeholder engagement
• Experienced in building rapport with people at all levels of the organisation
• Strong leadership and a high level of integrity and personal drive
• Ability to work well and engage in a team environment
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Accounts Officer experience in a medium to large size business, desirable
• Knowledge of implications of GST for corporate/ sporting bodies, desirable
• Prior experience with accounting systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, desirable
