Role: HR Operations Co-ordinator
Term: Permanent
Location: Basingstoke/ hybrid working (min 2 days per week on site)
Salary: £22K – £25K dep on exp + annual bonus + benefits
Here at the AA, the largest breakdown provider in the UK; we are looking to recruit an HR Operations Co-ordinator to join our HR Shared Services area.
Breakdown cover has always been our number one priority but we’ve since branched out into Finance, Insurance, Leisure and Lifestyle services and have a unique history of embracing new technology and innovations to better serve our 14 million members.
We’re looking for someone who has worked within an HR operations/shared services setting who is used to working at pace, delivering a high quality and consistent HR service to employees and managers. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels with confidence and professionalism.

As HR Operations Co-ordinator, you will be part of the ‘Employee Lifecycle’ team who are responsible for activities from day 1 of a new starter through to leave date, such as changes to employment contracts, processing absence, changes to employee records etc. You will be delivering a high quality and consistent HR service to your stakeholders, providing timely and efficient administration support to HR colleagues, line managers, employees and
What will I be doing?
Administering and producing the sending of letters and contracts; and ensuring pre-employment checks are completed in accordance with service level agreements
Payroll administration to include processing starters, movers and leavers, employer and employee driven changes
Ensuring employee records are up to date and accurate
Data input, cleansing and archiving of data
Ensure that all employee data is entered into HR system information system in a timely, accurate and consistent manner
Action workflow requests in a timely and consistent manner
Monitor adherence by all staff and managers to all HR related policies, standards and processes, highlighting non-conformance to the HR Shared Services Manager or other members of HR
Deliver a quality and professional service to all customers
Respond and resolve where possible routine customer service enquiries, issues and complaints, escalating as appropriate to the HR Shared Services Manager
Escalate requests for HR advice to relevant HR Business Partners and Advisors in a responsive, timely and efficient manner
To treat all information as strictly confidential and to only discuss matters with the relevant persons.
What do I need?
Previous HR Operations/Shared Services experience
Excellent communication skills
High degree of customer focus
Good organisational skills including ability to manage time and prioritise effectively
IT skills, skilled in using Microsoft Word and Excel packages and experienced in working with HR packages /databases
Working knowledge of IR35 desirable
Able to work independently and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes
Able to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information
Collaborative and able to work well with a range of people both within and outside of the organisation
Comfortable in speaking up and challenging others when required
