Job Description: Controller

Reports to: President

Primary function: This position is responsible for all of the accounting and finance activities, systems, and reporting, including weekly, monthly, by annual and annual reporting to the President.

Education: Accounting or Finance Degree

Experience: With an accounting degree or finance degree with CPA or eligible for CPA within six (6) months of employment. 5+ years of working with an accountant or higher position with preference given to experience in the service and construction HVAC/R industry.

Competency areas:

Staff management:

o Perform weekly PAR meetings with all direct reports and annual performance reviews for all direct reports.

o Train/cross-train and promote compliance and understanding within the accounting department all company policies and procedures.

o Establish and improve accounting staff procedures and policies consistent with company procedures.

o Manage department workload and expenses.

Accounting:

o Financial and reporting analysis

o Forecast and planning

o Cash management

o Accounts receivable

o Accounts collectable and collections

o Invoicing and billing procedures

o Fixed assets

o Balance sheet reconciliations

o Customer contract management

o Expense analysis and control

Managerial:

o Internal relationships with senior management team

o Training and mentoring

o Vendor relations

o External relationships

o Professional services relationships

o Compliance

o Make recommendations to senior management on accounting and tax practices as necessary

Information technology:

o Ensure all accounting systems have the most current versions

o Ensure all accounting backed up and secured with a disaster recovery plan

General:

o Maintain confidentiality

o Research specific areas as directed by senior management

o Special projects as assigned

o Build excellent internal relationships with all departments

o Build excellent external rapport and productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and outside agents

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
