The Senior Cost & Price Analyst will be responsible for the management of the day to day Cost Accounting activities / reporting across Australian Munitions – Mulwala and Benalla sites, enabling the Finance department to provide support to the business, deliver cost efficiencies and develop / implement solutions to improve the competitive position. This includes being responsible for providing accurate costing to the sales & marketing teams to ensure products are sold at an acceptable margin. Key day to day responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for cost accounting activities including standard cost development, average pricing analysis, margin and cost ratio analysis, inventory control, variance analysis, etc.
• Interact with Production to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date. Review and audit BOM’s to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices.
• Provide reporting and analysis for all manufacturing activity including productivity, capital & department spending, forecasting, budgeting, absorption, sales, inventory and operations planning, etc.
• Responsible for Analysing and Understanding Under or Over recovery generated through the business activities.
• Participate in development of the annual operating plan and monthly forecasting.
• Responsible for the Development of new labour and overhead rates, budget, and forecasts.
• With the Manufacturing team manage all cycle count process, including the investigation and recommendation of any variances for the Financial Controllers sign-off.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts; prepare and analyse balance sheet risk and opportunities.
• Prepare and distribute financial and managerial reports and explain financial results to non-financial audience
• Lead and execute process improvement projects including waste elimination team participation and leadership

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

• Ability to extract, organize, analyse, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions with the use of BPCS and other relevant reporting tools
• You will need to be well-versed in Microsoft Office Excel, Word & PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Work well under deadlines with minimum supervision in a finance environment.
• Degree in Finance or Accounting or certification from relevant professional bodies
• Strong analytical, business partnering skills and able to make key business decisions
