The Department
The finance department provides support to all areas of the business, ensuring we deliver accurate, timely and relevant financial information. The focus of the department is to ensure all of the groups financial reporting and day to day finance needs are met, these include areas such as budgetary control, cashflow management, management accounts, statutory accounts, purchase ledger, subcontract ledger, sales ledger, project appraisal and joint venture accounting.
Due to our continued growth we are looking for a Finance Apprentice to support various areas of the finance team to start in September 2022
The Job Role
The role holder’s primary responsibility will be to
· Input and process data
· Attend team meetings
· Review data and information
· Working on ad hoc finance projects
· Liaising with all members of the finance team and the wider business as experience develops
· The role holder will also be expected to get involved with all aspects of the finance department when required, we have team approach to everything we do.
This list is not exhaustive. Tasks will be allocated to reflect increasing levels of development and experience.
The Required Skills
· Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
· Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with people internally and externally
· Good attention to detail and organisational skills
· Effective time management skills
· Professional approach with high degree of discretion
· Ability to question, challenge and analyse
· Willing to be flexible and get involved with a wide range of tasks
· Ability to work on own initiative and generate solutions
