MISSION: The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will improve outcomes for all public-school students in the state by providing leadership, guidance, and support to school systems.
POSITION OVERVIEW:The Educator Preparation Specialist in the Division of Educator Standards, Testing, and Preparation shapes the future of educator effectiveness in Texas by providing guidance and support to Texas’s 123 educator preparation programs (EPPs) and educator candidates as they prepare for the rigors of the classroom and school environment. The preparation specialist also supports the Educator Preparation team in establishing and implementing a vision for continuous improvement and effective educator preparation by leading the EPP approval and annual review processes to ensure that Texas EPPs produce well-prepared beginning educators who positively impact student achievement. The preparation specialist performs advanced administrative work with limited supervision, under guidelines established by the educator preparation team. This position reports to the Manager of Educator Preparation.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
Experience: At least three [3] years of experience in education, with a demonstrated track record of success improving student outcomes for diverse student populations.
