The Role

The Software Systems Engineer – Megapack Software will be part of our energy engineering teams that are responsible for delivering end to end products and services to support Tesla Energy and Charging.

This product management role will be hyper focused on supporting Megapack business with software features and functionalities needed for a scale.

Additionally, he / she will be a contributor towards the development and launch of our next generation of energy products that will support Tesla’s large scale storage solutions.

This is multi-faceted role where flexibility to apply your skills to a variety of projects to support changing product needs is a must.

Ability to understand customer and market desires, combined with a solid technical foundation is expected. Members of our team display a rock-solid work ethic, team-oriented personality, creativity, passion, and a desire to lead the adoption of renewable energy storage at scale.

Responsibilities

• Drive Product Management for Feature and Performance Improvement Roadmaps
• Lead complex feature and product functionality design and requirements definition
• Deliver End to End feature and functional technical leadership
• Manage feature handoffs to operational stakeholders (sales / support teams)
• Maintain sustaining feature quality and product experience
• Work with engineering and UX teams to deliver a scalable solution that not just meets current needs, but considers future growth scenarios
• Communicating with stakeholders, including executives, team members and users

Requirements

• 4+ years of work experience in a product management capacity in fast-pace environments
• Experience in software & firmware development for connected devices
• Experience in electrical engineering or large scale electrical systems a plus
• Experience in UI / UXs development for industrial applications and users
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel
• Knowledge of battery and energy systems
• Deep passion for transitioning the world to sustainable energy
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline

Expected Compensation

$92,000 – $300,000 / annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
