The Role

The Role Tesla is expanding its Infotainment Applications software engineering team responsible for building in-car user interfaces, productivity applications (phone, calendar, browser), entertainment (media streaming and video games), autopilot visualization, and our mobile application.

This team’s work is front and center of Tesla’s vehicle fleet, with millions of customers around the world experiencing and interacting with their software as the primary interface to the vehicle.

We are looking for highly motivated frontend software engineers to continue creating, developing, and evolving Tesla’s in-vehicle customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Rapid prototyping of in-car customer experiences
• Design, code and debug UI interfaces / architectures
• Work with a cross-functional team of Hardware Engineer, Software Engineers, Game Developers, QA and Designers
• You will be responsible for the look and feel of the user experience, architecture, and front-end graphics.

Requirements

• Proficient in C++
• Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts
• Experience writing and shipping customer-facing code
• Willingness to learn new technologies in any area of the stack
• Experience using common design patterns in the software industry
• Experience working with multithreaded applications
• Strong software engineering skills, excellent interpersonal communication
• High standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance
• Experience building state-of-the-art user interfaces and / or acclaimed consumer facing applications
• Aptitude for implementing intuitive, fluid user experiences.

Expected Compensation

• Associate Distributed Systems Engineer – $98,800 – $148,200 / annual salary
• Distributed Systems Engineer – $114,000 – $171,000 / annual salary
• Sr Distributed Systems Engineer – $133,000 – $199,500 / annual salary
• Staff Distributed Systems Engineer – $159,600 – $239,400 / annual salary
• Sr Staff Distributed Systems Engineer – $190,000 – $285,000 / annual salary
• Principal Distributed Systems Engineer – $220,400 – $330,600 / annual salary

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
