Tesla Hiring for Mechanical Assembly Technician 2nd Shift at Richmond Hill, ON Full Time

The role of Mechanical Assembly Technician will be 2nd shift position and therefore eligible for a 10% shift differential. The hours for 2nd shift are a sliding start and finish times depending on business needs.

The shift will be 8-11 hours per day: Start time will be between 3:30pm-4:30pm and the end of the shift will be between 1:00am-3:00am. The start and finish times will be communicated ahead of time by the management team.

Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated, “hands-on” individual to join our Mechanical Assembly Team for the assembly of a new generation of high speed, automated manufacturing equipment. The role includes interpreting mechanical drawings and pneumatic schematics, mechanical assembly of machine components, machining of parts, machine mechanical start-up, testing and debug and some travel for machine installation and commissioning support.

Responsibilities:
Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings including assembly drawings and detail component drawings, assembly of precision machine components with some machining of parts (milling and turning) as required for assembly of custom engineered automated machinery.

Mechanical systems testing and debug, systems commissioning, installation and troubleshooting of machines on-site.

Qualifications:
College diploma or certificate in mechanical technology, toolmaking or machining, completed apprenticeship or equivalent preferred.

2-3+ years of proven experience in assembly of custom automated machinery.

Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, mechanical drawings and pneumatic schematics.

Familiar with basic hand tools.

Familiar with basic measuring tools (Vernier, micrometers, height gauge etc.) to tolerances of .001”.

Familiar with machine shop equipment (lathe / mill / surface grinder).

Team player, can work independently

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, report, repair and/or correct the issues with minimal supervision

Ability to travel.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
