What To Expect
The Americas Commercial and Industrial Energy Storage Sales Team focuses on the development of large commercial and industrial behind-the-meter solar and battery energy storage (BESS) applications for direct customers both private (F500) and public sector. .

This is multi-faceted role where a strong technical knowledge of Tesla’s energy product suite and strong business knowledge of the market for both solar and energy storage is expected. The Account Manager will lead projects from first touch with customer through contract execution with support from Tesla’s technical and commercial support organizations. This role will involve a mix of internal and external task management responsibilities. Internally, diverse project teams comprised of engineering, finance, legal and other disciplines will need to be coordinated. Externally, customers projects are developed forward to a definitive project and scope or work, and contracts are negotiated and closed.

What You’ll Do

Manage a project pipeline of short, medium, and long-term opportunities spanning multiple markets, project types.

Lead the sales cycle, including project development management, contract negotiation and closing a targeted product volume and/or revenue each year (quota bearing).

Provide ing to management as and when required

Generate proposals, quotes and supply customers with high quality project proposals

What You’ll Bring

2-5 years minimum work experience in the renewable energy space and/or power sector

Demonstrated experience in developing relationships and closing deals in renewable energy and related markets, working B2B and/or with commercial and industrial customers.

Experience in sales or business development (customer-facing)

Working knowledge of solar energy systems, battery systems, renewable power, and behind the meter project applications

Understanding of the California electricity market in terms of a commercial customer energy bill, rate tariffs, Net Energy Metering 2.0 and 3.0, as well as common use-cases for solar and energy storage. Knowledge of NY, NJ, MA, IL, HI and other states in the US is a plus.

Hands-on contract negotiation experience in energy storage or renewables

Experience managing cross-functional projects in fast paced, dynamic settings

Excellent communication skills- both internal and external facing. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Expert in MS suite.

Ability to execute and manage many tasks in parallel

Deep passion for accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy

Ability to travel as needed

Expected Compensation

$64,000 – $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
