Basic scope and primary objectives:
Reporting into the Management Accounting Lead, the finance assistant is to provide support in transactional elements of day-to-day managing, processing, and troubleshooting involved in producing accurate and timely TES Financial Information. Though junior in responsibility, the role is intended to be largely varied in nature, providing ad-hoc support to all of Management Accounts & Financial Statutory reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Tax.

Would suit a candidate who is a team player, has a can-do attitude, is willing to get stuck in and is adaptable and open to change with and when as business requirements are needed. An ability to handle, be comfortable & reliable with financial information will be expected, but the right attitude and aptitude to learn & support is more important than direct relevant experience in every area covered by role responsibilities. In return, a wide variety of development opportunities within finance will be available to the right candidate, including full study support.

Key role responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping, administrative & data processing support in; TES Group Bank reconciliations
• TES Group Balance sheet reconciliations
• School Cloud bookkeeping (billing reconciliations for deferred revenue calculations)
• Accounts receivable support in invoicing queries, cash collection and allocation
• Accounts payable support in invoice processing & payment runs
• Billing processing support
• Annual audit evidence support
• Tax bookkeeping support
• Purchase Order reporting
• Anaplan Reporting TB reconciliations
• Ad-hoc financial integration project support to Management Accounting Lead
• Long-term development opportunities (or immediately available to the right candidate) to become business facing through management accounts pack production and delivery, which could cover, but not limited to –
• TB review and preparation for timely and accurate reporting
• Revenue reconciliation and controls
• Accruals and prepayment preparation & posting
• Leading monthly meetings with key stakeholders

Education and experience requirements:

• Graduate &/or part qualified (AAT to CIMA/ACCA/ACA will all be considered) – or – relevant financial academic or work experience, with view to taking on study.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Strong academic record
