Purpose of the Job

The Capital Projects Manufacturing Lead manages the technical aspects of all major capital spend projects. This will include procurement, installation and commissioning of major process or test equipment, fit out and installation of new sites or upgrades to existing facilities. Managed and executed in accordance with project management principles of Safety, Quality, Scope, Schedule, and Cost.

 Key Accountabilities

• Establish project charters, cost estimates, and business cases with input from stakeholders.
• Support the development of the manufacturing Operations strategic roadmap to deliver the overall company strategic plan
• Coordinate activities between internal and external parties.
• Identify critical issues within the project (i.e. project risks and opportunities) that could impact outcomes (i.e. schedule or budget) and develop action plans to address negative variances and reporting areas of non-compliance to the project stakeholders.
• Conduct stakeholder meetings and forums to solicit feedback, input, and expectations; incorporate these into project plans
• Adhere to established methodologies for project management.
• Produce monthly reports on the progress of project portfolio development.
• Conduct project debriefings to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations based on findings
• Deliver the detailed planning and execution of capital plan.
• Collect and share with the project team all site related requirements to ensure resources on site are prepared and equipped to deliver full capital plan.
• Deliver the detailed planning and execution of assigned projects.
• Manage and deliver specific capital or site projects to include, install, integration and acceptance testing of equipment or facilities to ensure it meets equipment specifications, purchasing contract and performance guarantees.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or civil engineering or a related subject.
• Likely to be of graduate calibre or very significant experience or apprentice-trained with graduate level intellect.
• Previous operational experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience of managing engineering projects of £5M+ (New production lines, Process areas, factory installations and civils) 
• Experience of managing contractors and contractor control processes.
• Familiar with project management software and CAD design.
• Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills are essential.
• Ability to create and facilitate meetings, feedback sessions, and briefings to create consensus among stakeholders.
