WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING…*

As an data scientist, you will be working directly with data labellers, software engineers and other data scientists on our MIST product line. You will be on the development team for our MIST product, working to create and deploy aerial surveillance with artificial intelligence. The product will utilize edge computing, computer vision and deep learning algorithms. This project is our core project developed through the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program. You will use your data science, deep learning, and computer vision experience to train neural networks to detect, identify and track objects in the MIST product. This role is multifaceted! You will be doing everything from working with data labellers to ensure all data is labelled to standard, to working directly with the client to understand how they read and interpret their sensor data. Internally, you will be in a team of Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Quality Assurance Engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS*

Excellent knowledge of Python

Experience with deploying ML/DL on the edge or in the cloud

Strong knowledge of ML/DL frameworks (eg. TensorFlow, PyTorch)

Knowledge of computer vision neural networks such as Fast-RCNN, ResNet, Mask-RCNN

Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills

Canadian Citizen / Permanent Resident for at least 10 years

Security clearance check (Criminal Record and Credit Check)

Bonus: Experience with Docker, NVIDIA, MLOps, TensorRT, CUDA, C/C++ and/or video analytics is a plus

COMPENSATION

$85,000-$95,000

“Okanagan Relocation Top Up” – We aren’t blind to the fact that we’re asking you to relocate, on top of the fact that while the world has removed to remote, we do require you to come into the office periodically (don’t worry we have never been in the office full-time, even pre-Covid). Of course that comes with a relocation package, but we also want you to be able to enjoy the perks that the Okanagan has to offer (extensive wineries, world-renown ski hills, and sandy beaches anyone?) without breaking the bank. This is why we offer a 10% top up once you are relocated.

Stock options based on experience, competency and length of service
