Terramera Hiring for Software Product Designer at British Columbia Full Time

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Software Product Designer to join our Research & Development team (R&D). This position will play a key role in the development of new suite of applications that will effectively present complex data sets to a wide variety of end users. You will join our Software Development team and work closely with Product Managers, Scientists, Machine Learning and Robotics Engineers, and other groups in R&D.

The successful candidate will make a major impact, as their deliverables will contribute to the revolutionary solution aimed to support regenerative agriculture practices and to turn climate change, economic crisis, and food insecurity into opportunities.

YOUR MISSION

To help build highly useable software solutions for our innovative biosciences company from the ground up.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design new systems and incremental functionality based on requirements from internal and external sources

In conjunction with Product Managers, help elicit requirements from end users and potential partners

Develop and validate wireframes and task flows based on user needs

Produce design documentation and prototypes to convey requirements to Developers

Maintain currency in software design and user experience techniques

Gather feedback from end users

REQUIREMENTS

Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related field

8 to 10 years of work experience in product design, user experience, or similar role

Demonstrated ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive and user-friendly features

Experience creating different user personas through interviews and research

Good understanding of interaction design and data architecture

Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Experience designing applications for Web deployment as well as native platforms (iOS, Android)

Strong experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies
