Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

• Drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline accounting operations and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and internal controls.
• Assist in managing the preparation of monthly financial reporting for management presentations, including tie-outs to underlying detail.
• Analyze and prepare monthly actual versus budget information and associated expenses. Review detailed activity by general ledger account to verify proper general ledger account coding and appropriate capitalization treatment. Provide supporting documents and explanation of significant expenses as well as reconciling accounts payable reporting to actual vs. budget reporting. Notify management of projected budget overage on any individual expense line items.
• Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations based on supporting reconciliations and schedules.
• Review and provide final authorization of invoices for payment and proper account classification.

Costing/Inventory Control

• Develop and maintain standard costs, including recommendation of pricing to sustain margin profitability.
• Assist plant management in implementing financial and performance measurement systems.
• Assist plant management in determining and prioritizing plant opportunities for operational accounting efforts consistent with goals and strategies.
• Assist in development of new labor & overhead rates for budget & forecasts.
• Assist with inventory valuation and related reporting.
• Miscellaneous month end journal entries – Sales, COGS, labor, materials, & overhead.
• Troubleshoot and fix integration errors and variances.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management/controls throughout the entire production cycle.
• Monitor inventory transactions, update general ledger, gather, and analyze data, perform audits and assessments, and produce regular inventory reports.
• Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Other Responsibilities

• Reviews payroll and benefits compliance in conjunction with Human Resources.
• Preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
• Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
• Communicates with internal / External parties relevant to the key accountabilities. External contacts are primary customers, potential customers, and various governmental agencies in support of the business.
• Ad hoc reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• 6+ of experience in an accounting department or at an accounting firm, with exposure to cash management, general ledger management, and project accounting.
• Outstanding analytical, quantitative, and social skills.
• Ability to prioritize, self-manage, and multi-task, preferably with experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and various ERP and online accounting systems required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
