Our client located in Terrey Hills is looking for a self motivated Payroll Officer to join their team in a part time capacity working 4 days a week. This is a permanent opportunity based in Terrey Hills with some travel to Seven Hills head office occasionally.

The Payroll Officer will report to Regional Operations Manager onsite and Head Office Payroll Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation and processing of weekly payroll
• Maintain payroll records
• Administration of annual leave, superannuation, sick leave and long service leave
• Calculation and payment of payroll tax
• Month end reporting
• Assist with general enquiries from staff internally
• Assist when necessary with general finance administration
• Adhere to WH&S policies and procedures
• Assist the Finance team with –
• Reporting
• Audits
• Reconciliations
• Payroll tax and funding incentive claims for trainees and apprentices
• Preparation of Board reporting documents
• Continuous improvement of systems and processes
• Ensure compliance to customer contracts
• Assisting with the upgrade of the payroll system and system transitions
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required

About You:

• A positive and motivated team player with exceptional internal and external stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Detail oriented with attention to accuracy
• Well organised, able to prioritise effectively and manage projects to agreed timelines despite conflicting priorities

Qualification and accreditation’s:

• Micropay or other payroll systems proficiency desirable
• Experience processing payroll in a shift and roster environment
• Effective communication skills and ability to resolve discrepancies
• Ability to liaise with fellow employees in a professional manner
• You will need good systems experience including advanced Excel
• Ability to work unsupervised, show initiative and self-motivation
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and numerical skills
• Willingness to perform duties as instructed within the scope of the position.
