We have an opening for a Staff Accountant position. This individual will take ownership of performing reconciliations of accounts payable, auditing financials and preparing journal entries for management.

Responsibilities

• Generating complete, accurate, and timely transactions
• Perform exception billing reconcile accounts receivables
• Perform account/payment reconciliations
• Identifying bad debt or financial exposure
• Post revenues by verifying and entering transactions from deposits, EFT’s, and daily credit card transactions
• Perform full cycle accounting including preparation of general ledger journal entries and accounting schedules for both internal and external financial reporting
• Prepare opening balance sheets
• Reviewing weekly check runs
• Analysis of financial statements
• Bank reconciliations
• Preparing accounts payable for weekly check runs
• Assisting with month, quarter & year end.
• Other ad hock responsibilities
• The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation
• Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting
• Participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes
• Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, and prepaid expenses
• Participate in various department-wide initiatives
• Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls
• Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
• Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
• Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
• Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
• Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
• Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
