Our team and what we’ll accomplish together:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing the highest possible standards of client service and satisfaction. As the initial contact person for patients visiting the clinic, you will meet and greet clients, prioritize patient needs and requests appropriately and efficiently, assist patients with intake paperwork, and answer questions about the Centre’s services – all while maintaining a pleasant and courteous demeanor and respect for client confidentiality.
What you’ll do:
Greet clients and visitors in a polished, professional and courteous manner
Understand the programs and services of TELUS Health Care Centres to provide clients with appropriate information, or to best direct their inquiries
Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, staff, suppliers and other healthcare providers in the community
Maintain inventory of office supplies; place orders and confirm receipt of deliveries
Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness; ensure patient demographics are kept up to date
Ensure appointments are processed within a timely manner that respects clinical schedules, and communicate effectively with clients when services do not run on time
Generate invoices, collect and record payments, and issue credit notes as necessary
Respect internal security, privacy and integrity policies
Crosstrain in other administrative positions to ensure clients receive smooth, end-to-end service during team vacations and absences
Work collaboratively and effectively with all team members to support a welcoming and client-focused environment
Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic activities
Qualifications
What you bring:
Healthcare and/or hospitality background an asset
1-2 years of experience providing an exceptional level of customer service in a fast paced environment
Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
Exhibits a professional image and mature communication style when assisting patients and peers alike
Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact while respecting patient confidentiality at all times
Self-starter who takes initiative, and demonstrates a high level of accountability and sound judgement
Attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
Strong work ethic and takes ownership to complete a task from start to finish
Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Demonstrates effective organizational, multitasking and problem solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
Exposure to patient databases and/or appointment scheduling software would be ideal
