Telstra’s Talent Acquisition and Careers Services function brings together a talented team of people based all around the world to attract the best talent, enhance business performance and deliver an outstanding recruitment service experience. We have a dedicated Squad that supports Projects, Early Careers, high-volume retail and customer service and Strategic Sourcing initiatives.

The Sourcing Team plays a strategic role in sourcing talent from using a variety of channels, networks and build relationships within talent markets, with a particular focus on areas key to Telstra’s competitive advantage and diversity objectives. This team works closely with TA partners and business stakeholders, advocates Telstra’s employer brand and creates talent pipelines to support current and upcoming workforce demand.

Focus of the Role:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for proactive sourcing as well as uplifting talent sourcing capability within broader Talent Acquisition (TA) teams. In performing this role, you’ll also be accountable for driving sourcing strategy for key talent segments as well as applying your knowledge gained within the strategic sourcing on a range of projects, BAU and strategic initiatives. The role will provide you with an opportunity to join emerging conversations with the business, actively contribute and lead on conversations around sourcing solutions, market insights, challenges and recommendations.

Key Accountabilities include but not limited to:

• Execute and support the team’s objectives in providing best practice, impactful recruitment sourcing solutions and quality services to the business
• Support cross team collaboration activities across all of Talent Acquisition and Career Services
• Develop and implement sourcing plans specific to allocated labour market segments, deliver high quality candidates using cost effective and targeted sourcing channels, leading to improved quality of hire, time to fill and providing market intelligence
• Partner with relevant HR colleagues and business stakeholders to drive demand planning, enabling proactive forecasting of future recruitment needs
• Provide training, support and advice to TA colleagues to build sourcing capability more broadly across the function which may involve developing/contributing to training material content and delivering training (one on one or in small groups)
• Partner with Projects and Employer Brands & Marketing in the delivery of large-scale recruitment projects and campaigns, involving the development of sourcing strategy including channel activation for advertising, passive candidate targeting and candidate engagement through effective use of Telstra EVP.

Qualifications/Experiences:

• Demonstrated understanding and experience in developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies, managing and using multiple channels and research methods
• Experience with building talent pools using a variety of platforms including the ATS (any), LinkedIn Recruiter, Seek Talent Search, Indeed, Referrals, Events etc.
• Demonstrated industry experience within internal, recruitment agency or search firms
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple searches, volumes and hiring managers
• Maintaining stakeholder relationships both internal and external
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
