Our TC&P team
The Transformation, Communications & People function leads the development of Telstra’s Transformation roadmap and orchestrates the delivery of our key priorities, manages all internal and external Communications, and develops and implements our People strategies.
This role is part of our lean team in the Reward Centre of Expertise, which develops and implements our reward strategy through remuneration, incentives, benefits, and recognition programs.
The role with us
As an HR Advisor, you provide support to the organisation’s leaders and employees (which may include subsidiary and related companies) in a specialist area of HR in Global Case Management (GCM). You support a high-performance culture by working closely with the business in supporting HR and people related matters at both a tactical and strategic level. Your knowledge of HR policies, processes and employment obligations means you are an integral contributor to the delivery of people processes and initiatives that support our business objectives.
Please note that this role is on a fixed term contract for 6 months (until end of June 2022).
Responsibilities:
This is how you’ll bring the purpose of your role to life – Working in a specialised team or Centre of Expertise (CoE), you will provide subject matter expertise in the management of a range of employment matters, or delivery of employment related projects. Depending on the specialisation, these may include:
Provide advice to people leaders to support management of employee issues, including conduct management, workplace investigations, performance management, employee health and absence issues; and discrimination, bullying and harassment, matters.
Manage high risk and complex employee matters including: Whistleblower investigations, internal dispute resolution and redundancy appeals.
Advise on HR issues with a deep understanding and knowledge of HR policies, procedures and legislation.
Represent the organisation in external matters at the Fair Work Commission and tribunals.
Participate in cross company HR/people related projects.
Maintain effective consultative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to union representatives, industry associations and government representatives.
To be successful in the role you are someone with:
3+ years’ experience in Human Resources case management (or other HR related role) at a global organisation.
Experience in coaching and guiding managers and leadership teams in handling complex employee matters.
Excellent communication and stake holder management skills.
Tertiary degree in Human Resources is desirable
