In Strategy & Finance, we set our company’s shared strategic vision and facilitate long-term strategic planning and resource allocation. Our team also provide commercial advice and strategic insight; deliver external reporting; and enable the business to effectively manage key strategic, operational and financial risks.

The role with us,

As a Finance Operations Manager, you play a pivotal role in leveraging your exceptional leadership skills to successfully manage a team of high performing specialists in the development of strategic financial models. This sees you and your team provide long term insight into Telstra Operations to enhance the decision making across the business.

You are collaborative and enjoy working closely with a highly capable team and internal stakeholders to stimulate behaviours that drive value and achieve strategic objectives. Through your deep expertise in data analysis, financial strategies and analytical modelling you deliver strategic goals and develop actionable insights that drive commercial performance at Telstra.

This role will be responsible for:

• Financial Analysis & Reporting of asset performance including monthly P&L reporting and KPI tracking through dashboards
• Planning & Forecasting end to end P&L for the Fibre business
• Developing and maintaining driver based models for the purpose of assessing performance as well as informing the planning process
• Detailed profitability assessment by product and region
• Commercial and financial assessment of proposed revenue and cost opportunities
• Supporting the creation of “investor ready” financials

• Planning, budgeting and forecasting for the Fibre business, incorporating end to end P&L, capital, balance sheet and cashflow
• Managing the financial performance by customer, product and region
• Supporting the identification and sizing of new revenue streams
• Insight and analytics of business drivers and their impact on the financials
• Liaising with GBS and N&IT to agree cost planning for managed services
• Ensure efficient and effective investment decision-making
• Have the gravitas and presence to challenge the business leaders on the insight and driver analytics

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CA or CPA qualified
• Experience in finance planning and analysis processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent modelling skills and financial literacy
• Focus on delivering key message & insight relevant to stakeholders and business partners
• Engaging and influencing stakeholders and partners to get best business outcomes
• Time management skills
• Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy, detail & insight
