About the team

Our Global Business Services (GBS) function brings together and radically simplifies customer service operations and internal support services. We enable innovation, both for our consolidated function as well as for other areas of Telstra.

The role with us

This role plays a pivotal role to enable and drive high-quality analytically led decision making by providing customer-centric insight for the GBS Field teams. This is achieved through direct engagement with business representatives, employing deep expertise in data analysis, insight and analytical modelling to produce actionable insights.

You will support the development of operating plans that underpin strategic objectives by assisting team members in generating key insights into the performance of the commercial segment and recommendations for improvements.

You will maintain data to support analysis of costs and support the development and execution of business plans aligned to company objectives.

Your key goals in this role will include:

• Business partner, influence and provide commercial decision and analysis support to various Field operational teams to enable informed decisions.

• Work with a group of analytic specialists and key stakeholders to define, prioritise and deliver work items to the Field business within required/feasible timeframes.

• Support the business with financial analysis and modelling to develop short and long term strategies as well as key performance indicators to achieve business initiatives

• Provide high-quality quantitative and qualitative analysis to test ideas/business hypotheses, analyse issues and provide insights to influence key decisions.

• Produce comprehensive analysis and reports for stakeholders to understand key drivers of financial performance

• Engage with relevant business partners, prioritise and assess business proposals to support sound commercial decisions and profitable growth

• Work with business stakeholders to understand financial risks, opportunities and issues, effectively communicating business risks and opportunities to key stakeholders

To be successful in the role, you’ll bring skills and experience in:

• Completed a tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance

• Post Graduate Studies desirable

• Management Consulting experience desirable

• Previous experience working in finance or commercial business teams

• Experience in analysing complex problems to develop actionable insights that will drive commercial performance

• Understanding business context and identify opportunities for improvement

• Experience influencing stakeholders across the business

• Proven experience in being able to craft a compelling story to address the respective audience.

• Ability to translate problems into solutions and communicate these in a simple and concise manner

• Strong ownership and accountability and self-management

• Confidence in liaising with all levels of stakeholders
