The Opportunity

We now have an opportunity available for a Finance Business Partner to join our professional and passionate Finance team. Reporting to our Financial Controller this position will closely collaborate with our medical researchers to provide financial advice and expertise.

The Role
As our new Finance Business Partner, you will provide commercially minded financial advice, expert analysis, drive business improvement and partner with Institute leaders to provide clear insight into finance and Institute operations. This is a true business partnering opportunity, where you will be required to build key stakeholder relationships, in order to develop and implement policies and present financial data.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Provide financial advice and expertise into finance processes.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide regular financial and budgetary advice to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Identify opportunities to add value in the development and execution of the Institute’s Strategic Plan.
• Ensure accounting standards for revenue are properly assessed and complied with for each funding contract.

About You
This position will suit someone with excellent research, analytical and financial management skills.

Additionally, the key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:

• Degree qualifications (or undertaking) in Accounting or Commerce and currently undertaking or completed CPA/CA program, and/or relevant equivalent experience.
• A strong commercial business acumen and financial management skills including an ability to interpret financial reports for decision making.
• An ability to produce and interpret complex excel spreadsheets to assist in the formulation of budget compilation and forward estimate modelling.
• Demonstrated experience in business partnering at a senior level to provide financial analysis, problem solving and providing guidance on financial management techniques to maximise service unit results and deliver operational efficiencies.

Medical Research industry experience is not essential but would be an advantage.

Conveniently located in the Perth Children’s Hospital, this full-time opportunity will be offered at a 3-year contract initially.
