Client Finance Manager

We’re looking for a Client Finance Manager to join our growing and dynamic team.

The Client Finance Manager works with an account manager/strategist and possibly an HR specialist as part of a client team.

The job is remote though if you prefer can come to the office in Los Angeles. Candidates working from home should have a dedicated work area and secure internet. Outside of being available for occasional meetings, we work asynchronously.

We do not use email internally. We schedule meetings thoughtfully.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on client onboarding
• Day-to-day accounting, controls, AP & AR processing for assigned clients
• Cashflow planning
• Budgeting and analysis
• Periodic financial reviews with clients where insights about the client’s business are presented and discussed
• Sales tax compliance for clients that require it (this is a minority of our clients)
• Collaborate on workflows to enable repeatability and scalability
• Staying abreast of trends and technologies, proactively innovating and improving our product

You should have 5-7 years of experience as:

• a finance manager or accountant at a company in our targeted size and industries or a mix of industries OR
• a finance manager or accountant at a firm servicing companies of our target size

You must be able to:

• Communicate financial insights to non-financial people in a way they can understand, with patience and respect
• Understand the complete accounting and financial needs and practical considerations of service businesses with revenues of 2-30M
• Determine and prioritize tasks to be done without excessive supervision or input from others
• Communicate clearly and effectively
• Focus on details without losing sight of the bigger picture
• Work as part of a team, celebrate the successes of the team
• Think conceptually about workflows, understand the difference between effectiveness and efficiency
• Learn and embrace new tools and methods

It would be great if you had:

• Experience with project accounting
• Experience with QuickBooks Online Advanced and/or NetSuite
• Experience with Rippling, Expensify and/or Bill.com
• Experience with niche ERP systems (i.e., ProCim, Studio Designer)
• Experience with workflow/project management software (i.e., Asana)
• Experience working remotely in a paperless environment
• An interest in the business and/or accounting and/or design/creative communities

Compensation

• 75-95K salary
• Bonus based on firm profitability and other factors
