Position Overview

TTI ANZ is a wholesale business that relies heavily on our freight carriers in order to fulfill customer orders thereby freight costs have a significant impact to our P&L.

The Financial Analyst (Transportation) is accountable for providing financial focus and oversight on the end-to-end freight process. The Analyst will utilise their commercial, financial and analytical skills to provide insight and recommendations to key stakeholders to drive operational efficiency & effectiveness as well as support key forecasting and reporting requirements for the ANZ group.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform analysis of transportation costs (domestic freight) with appropriate commentary and insights, to understand underlying cost drivers, variation of actual costs against budget/forecasts and ensure adequacy of controls in ANZ entities and locations

• Perform balance sheet and accrual reconciliations related to transportation for action on under/over accruals

• Develop and maintain fit-for-purpose rate cards & transport models and audit transport supplier invoicing for accuracy as per contractual terms

• Enhance and develop group financial reporting and analysis models related to transportation, to support better decision making

• Use reporting and analysis outputs to challenge process flows, cost controls and suggest/recommend opportunities to improve cost efficiencies and thereby the bottom line

• Review transportation elements in cost-to-serve model to enhance profitability of different customers, customer segments and distribution models

• Participate and support the delivery of rolling monthly forecasts, quarterly reviews, and annual budgeting

• Prepare monthly reporting, including all supporting commentary as required to explain the transportation cost behaviour and variations

• Work with the financial accountants to provide input into the accruals required for transportation costs as part of the month end close

• Monitor internal controls in accordance with policies, guidelines, and the schedule of authority

• Participate in cross-functional business and operational projects where related finance input is required

About You

You are a self-starter who can work autonomously and manage multiple competing priorities, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have a hands-on approach whereby you actively and directly get involved in the delivery of objectives.

Qualifications:

• Qualification in Business/Accounting or similar

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion) desirable

Experience

• 5+ years relevant business/practical financial analytical experience

• Direct experience in transportation and/or supply chain environments is preferred

• Experience using and developing reporting with Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik, Power BI, TM1, Tableau, etc.

• Experience of Audit / Practise Trained or similar role in industry desirable

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of SAP essential.

• Time management skills with the ability to work within strict timelines essential.

• Advanced Microsoft skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) essential.
