Role Description
This is newly created role which includes establishing, improving, and embedding people processes and policies across all business areas and territories consistently. As the face of People Operations to our employees and new starters, this role is pivotal in creating an engaging experience from candidate offer through the entire employee lifecycle. This role is accountable for building slick, effective, processes and programs that scale and will also act as the Product Owner for our HR tech stack (Workday +?). Role works closely across the HR team and across the business to ensure key priorities and opportunities are proactively identified, captured and prioritised to ensure TCS HR is always improving how we work.
We are seeking a highly skilled operator who has had experience scaling teams for a fast growing, extremely successful, global business. M&A integration experience is desirable.
Primary Responsibilities
Operate as a both a strategic thought partner to the HR leadership team and an advocate and resource for TCS employees.
The main point of contact and expert for all People policies and processes from onboarding to exit (from employment contracts, onboarding, probation, promotions and internal moves, organisational changes, time off).
Conduct an end-to-end review of all policies and benefits to ensure they are modernised, compliant and champion an inclusive work environment and provide a great employee and manager experience.
Lead change management initiatives including hiring best practices, employee experience, including onboarding, contracts, and offboarding
Act as the Product Owner for the HR Teck stack (Workday +?) ensuring it provides the best enabling support for our people strategy. Manage changes to HR data and HRIS to ensure timely, accurate records. Apply best practise tools and techniques to delivery of key people related activities such as Employee recognition and wellbeing programmes.
Shape the people operations strategy for critical business initiatives such as HR service desk and support infrastructure, self-service, automation and international expansion. Work closely with the Business Partnering team and the wider People team to establish a service catalogue (creating and maintenance of team’s remit) with the ambition to create defined SLA’s and a clear remit.
Play a critical role in any Company wide (or country wide) People Operations initiatives, such as integrations (M&A), harmonisations, process simplifications etc.
Lead employee data and insights team to ensure we get appropriate reports out of the system to report on key employee data and people initiatives (e.g. DE&I). Help to strengthen TCS reporting measures through dashboards, visualisations and defining key analytics measures and craft narratives behind people data that can be shared across the business.
Manage all TCS family friendly and flexibility programs including parental leave, maternity, paternity, shared parental leave requests, flexible working requests and associated processes and documentation
Working with the HR Business Partners and Global Reward to ensure all TCS overseas colleagues are contracted in an effective way; and manage visas, immigration and relocation smoothly and compliantly. Collaborating with Legal to ensure TCS is compliant with all international and local labour regulations (wage regulations, equal employment opportunity laws, etc.)
Oversee TCS payroll process / partner ensuring a smooth and reliable process
Maintain TCS benefits program ensuring we continue to be competitive and run a clear and effective program for employees that creates real value
Ensure full compliance and risk management across all People Operations taking UK and relevant global legislation into account. Support the delivery and adoption of IR35, GDPR, Right to Work and all global mobility, across the business. Regularly conduct compliance audits. Ensure all people data is compliant with data protection and GDPR legislation.
Support the development and delivery of group-wide people projects including large scale group restructures when needed
Keep current with industry trends and leverage vendors appropriately to ensure all HR operations are keeping pace with the market and external benchmarks
Lead all aspects of HR operations investments and budgets to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Ensure the overall resource management of your team from headcount to tools is thoughtful and strategic
Experience
Minimum of 10 years experience of working in fast paced, international environment in an organization experiencing transition and change.
HR data, systems and process expertise, including Operations, Total Rewards, L&D, Recruiting and HR Business Partnership, within a company serving 10,000+ employees, fielding and resolving escalated, high stakes questions from team members and employees.
Previous experience of HRIS implementation (ideally Workday). Tech-savvy, data and insights-driven in both your thinking, decision making and communication
Comprehensive understanding of employee lifecycle management globally, including foundational data models, business process, self service, and system capabilities
Proven ability to design, develop and implement innovative solutions to real People problems
Proven experience of undertaking customer journey and process mapping
Strong analytical and project management skills, proven ability to design clear processes, and a very detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem solving
Proven ability to effectively communicate and engage the wider business in newly-developed ways of working
