TechniCoil is looking for a Magnet Coil Engineer to learn from and work with the best electro-magnet and coil designer and manufacturer in the industry. This entry-level job can blossom into a long career in the unique and critical world of magnet design and manufacturing. Working hands-on with customers in the development of their designs, as well as your coworkers on the shop floor in the machining, winding and finishing of each custom magnet, makes this a pivotal role for the success of the business.
What you would do in this job
· Learn the ins and outs, do’s and don’ts of magnet design from a 40 year veteran and industry leading designer.
· Create and edit drawings for those designs
· Visit customers and work with them to optimize their designs for function, durability, and cost.
· Work with the shop floor machinists, mechanics, winders, and finishers to manufacture the units in a timely, cost-effective and high-quality fashion.
Position Expectations
· Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply that knowledge to real-world situations
· Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects to timely completion
· CAD/CAM design experience
· Physics, chemistry, materials and electrical knowledge as a base from which to learn and execute magnet design and manufacturing
· Desire and ability to work with customers to meet or exceed their needs
· Ability to comprehend the abstract concepts, nuances, and subtleties of 2D and 3D coil winding and design
· Demonstrated hands-on approach to item and project completion
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to develop rapport and gain respect at all levels, both within and outside the company

Requirements
· 4-year engineering degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required
· Understanding of physics, chemistry and electrical systems is expected
· CAD/CAM experience is expected
· Travel for the company will be required
· Strong ability to work with customers and suppliers
