Apprentice Software Engineer

The role:

As an Apprentice Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in our development environment. You’ll work directly alongside our senior developers to develop new and existing web solutions for a major UK VoIP network that has over a decade of experience to draw from.

At the same time, you will be gaining expertise in some of the most prolific web frameworks, such as Angular (Typescript) and Laravel (PHP8) as well as learning about Linux operating systems, software deployment, and server administration.

You will be supported to complete a Level 3 Software Developer Technician Apprenticeship with Learning Curve Group, an experienced training provider.

Your training will continue throughout the apprenticeship with both Learning Curve and our own highly skilled software engineers and technical specialists. All training will be delivered remotely.

Your experience and learning during this apprenticeship will kick start your career as a software engineer within an agile technology development function and be a gateway to further study and promotion opportunities.

Person specification:

• Numerate, analytical with logical thinking ability.

• Interest in coding and/or scripting.

• Interest in modern web development and API’s

• Experience in working on your own initiative and effectively as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes or deliver successful projects.

• Naturally collaborative, with good people skills.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will;

• Work with product owners to build and develop products and services in line with the strategic vision.

• Code and configure solutions

• Deliver high-quality products through techniques such as test-driven development, pair programming, and code review.

Accountabilities

• To successfully complete the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Software Development Technician, attending relevant training and undertaking assignments as required.

• 20 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
