Tech Returners is partnering with The Guardian to recruit 16 software developers to their engineering team.
Are you an experienced mid-level software engineer looking to return to your career following a career gap?
Would you welcome the opportunity to refresh your skills in Software Development Fundamentals, Frontend, and Backend technologies, receive career readiness and confidence coaching, and then be supported to secure a permanent role at the end of the programme?
Tech Returners provides is the UK’s only free and accessible Your Return to Tech programme for individuals returning to a software engineering role following a career break.
The programme involves training and coaching from our expert team over 12-weeks using interactive digital learning platforms, where you will be upskilled in the latest technologies.
Full-Stack Developer Role
As a full-stack developer, you’ll be willing to dive into a purely functional and composable Scala back-end, or a complex JavaScript front-end (using TypeScript, Angular, React etc) however you don’t experience in all of these technologies.

To qualify for this programme, you’ll need to:
Have previous experience of being a software developer/engineer (hands-on coding)
Do you have experience of one or more of the following technologies; JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, C#, Java, Python, C++ or Scala? If so, please apply.
Have had a period away from your career (including maternity, paternity leave but not limited too)
Be looking to return to technology with The Guardian via the Your Return to Tech programme
What are we looking for?
A creative, passionate individual who loves web technologies and pairing/mobbing
An outward thinker, and the desire and willingness to learn more and be commercially aware
Strong interest in growing your skill and an inclusive approach to problem-solving
Successful applicants will need to be within commuting distance of London as The Guardian is expecting to adopt hybrid working; a combination of working from home with regular travel to the head office in London 2 days a week.
