Post-Secondary Specialist Job Description

Location: Omaha Metro TeamMates Headquarters, La Vista, NE

Reports to: Post-Secondary Education Manager

BasicFunction and Responsibility: An administrative position in the TeamMates Mentoring Program to provide post-secondary support for the metro region and all TeamMates Chapters.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in education, business. public administration, or related field.

· Experience working with youth towards post-secondary education;

· Must have passion for youth, education, and community

· Familiarity with local scholarship opportunities.

Key Skills:

· High level of organizational and communication skills;

· Public speaking and ability to work collaboratively with non-profit organizations and schools systems.

· Ability to work collaboratively with TeamMates staff, school administration, and community partners;

· Presentation and interpersonal skills;

· Technical skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc;

· Maintain confidentiality, positivity, and professionalism at all times;

Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with non-profit organizations and school

districts to accomplish the following:

• Represent the TeamMates Mentoring Program in the area of scholarship and pursuit of post-secondary education;
• Develop partnerships with non-profits and school districts in the field of post-secondary services and opportunities;
• Secure post-secondary scholarships and support services for TeamMates youth;
• Coordinate TeamMates scholarship opportunities and assist matches with the application process;
• Look for opportunities to increase the TeamMates scholarship fund;
• Provide ongoing training and support for mentors of youth pursuing post-secondary education;
• Develop training and programming for mentoring during the college years;
• Improve match retention throughout the high school years;
• Create an alumni system for the TeamMates Mentoring Program;
• Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions: The ability to travel by car across the metro Omaha and Lincoln areas and to

periodically to TeamMates chapters across Nebraska and Iowa. This position must be able to work a flexible 40 hour a week schedule in the office and remotely and have the ability to climb stairs and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
